Livvy's Story

Light after Darkness

December 16, 2010  -  August 27, 2023

Olivia came into this world facing a challenge known as Chiari 1 Malformation, identified when she was just over a year old. This condition arises when the brain’s space at the skull base is insufficient, often necessitating surgical intervention. Olivia bravely underwent an initial, minimally invasive operation in 2022, from which she made the expected great recovery. However, her journey led to a second surgery. It is with profound sorrow that we share Olivia’s unexpected passing after this procedure on 8/27/23, following a valiant fight of 9 days on life support.

In the wake of this heartrending loss, Olivia’s legacy lives on through her altruistic contribution to the Gift of Life organ donation program, bestowing new hope to five individuals. Her generous spirit continued as her heart gave a new lease on life to a young boy, her kidneys brought vitality to another boy and a man, and her liver was a lifesaving gift to two young girls.
